It was a beautiful, crisp autumn morning at Camp Millhouse near South Bend when members of the Indiana Onsite Wastewater Professionals Association (IOWPA) came together to work.  

Backed by generous contributors, a new, larger septic system was installed on site.  The system and the labor to install it were donated for the benefit of Millhouse campers and staff. 

Camp Millhouse is a residential summer camp for children & adults with varying abilities. 

This “Special Place for Special People” envisions a world where individuals with special needs are encouraged to realize their full potential and value to make a difference in their communities.

Camp days involve a lot of fun, carefully monitored activities with friends and staff to provide an unforgettable experience for each individual. Here’s a look at some camp moments from 2019:  

Camp activities were offered in a virtual manner in 2020.  Zoom calls were held monthly.  Weekly Facebook posts included craft making sessions, and campers and their families could also stay connected via e-mail, TikTok, Twitter & Instagram.   

The camp is currently operated by Camp Millhouse Inc., a not-for-profit organization led by a volunteer Board of Directors. Camp Millhouse is accredited by the American Camp Association.
