Called “The Original Landscape Fabric That Started It All,” this 4.75 oz. product is now in stock in the following widths: 4’, 5’, 6’ & 8.’  Each roll comes in 250 foot lengths.

The construction of this composite product begins with a woven, needle-punched fabric that offers excellent strength and durability with a high degree of UV resistance. Air and water can flow through easily while weed growth is severely restricted. Its synthetic fibers resist rotting and degradation. The black color of this fabric prevents light penetration and the needle punching method of fabrication provides stability on slopes.

Next, a non-woven, or “fuzzy” layer is added to increase water permeability in the finished product. Then the edges are heat sealed, melting the ends of the two fabrics together to help prevent fraying or unraveling of the final result.

In most applications, the fabric should be placed fuzzy side down. This is especially true if weed control and soil stabilization are the primary goals. If mulch is to be used over the top of the fabric, place the fuzzy side up to allow it to help “hold onto” the mulch. Color stripes placed 12″ apart during fabrication help with plant spacing and alignment.
