Every day on construction sites, topsoil is ripped up and dug out as the land is moved & graded to new heights. Erosion Control Blankets are used to protect the disrupted slope and channel areas from wind and water erosion. They create a covered space beneath which plant life can grow. Blankets have been produced for both permanent & temporary installations and they come in several materials for a variety of uses.

S2000 is a fully photo/biodegradable blanket with netting made from double polypropylene.  

The filling within the blanket is 100% weed-free straw, whose fibers are known for their ability to provide dependable soil reinforcement. The functional longevity of S2000 is 12 to 24 months.  It’s best used on 3:1 & 2:1 slopes and in medium flow channels.

Standard stocking sizes of S2000 at #drainagesolutionsinc include 100, 215, and 500 square yard options. The staples needed to secure the blankets over prepared soil are also in stock. Choose from boxes of 1000 or bags of 100 or 50 depending upon the application.

“Marsh Mat” serves as an excellent sediment control solution at sewer inlets during the construction phase.  It’s a natural fiber product designed to help stop sediment and debris outside the grate. Coir Marsh Mat is sold in Kits of pre-cut pads/mats to allow quick installation on any size or shape grate.

To install, cut the mat to allow 3-inch overlap at each side of the grate. Attach the mat to the top side of the inlet grate using the provided Zip Ties.

Clean silt from around each Inlet Mat following every rain event. Sweep the top of the mat to clear built-up silt and solids.

In addition to Marsh Mat Kits, we also stock full rolls of Marsh Mat. They’re ideal for use on larger jobs and can be field cut and placed onsite. They come in 1 ¼” x 27” x 55’ and in a Mini Roll of 21’ lengths. The Zip Ties and Marsh Mat Filter Disks required for installation can be purchased here along with the rolls.
